Odd Socks Day brings laughter and learning to Frome Vale

There were giggles aplenty when pupils wore odd socks at Frome Vale Academy, but there was a serious side to this unusual dress code.
Odd Socks Day marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week and is a day to celebrate what makes individuals unique while raising awareness about bullying. The event encourages children to express themselves and appreciate that everyone is different.
The day is a celebration of individuality and sends a powerful message that differences, kindness and compassion should be embraced and nurtured.
Jan Saunders, Principal of Frome Vale Academy, said: “Odd Socks Day is a fun way to start an important conversation about kindness and respect.
“It reminds our pupils that being different is something to be proud of, and that by showing empathy and understanding, we can all help to make our school a place where everyone feels safe and valued.”
